During this video we are going to look at the Classic WordPress Editor.

Classic WordPress Editor

Before the introduction of the Gutenberg editor in WordPress 5.0, the Classic WordPress Editor was the default editor that users used to create and edit content on their WordPress sites. Even after the introduction of the Gutenberg editor, WordPress still provides users with the option to use the Classic Editor.

The Classic WordPress Editor is a simple and straightforward editor that resembles the traditional text editor that most users are familiar with. It has a toolbar that includes all the formatting options, such as bold, italic, underline, align left, center, and right, among others. Users can also add media, links, and tables using the Classic Editor.

The Classic Editor is easy to use and does not require users to have any technical skills or knowledge. It is particularly useful for bloggers who want to focus on creating content and do not want to spend time learning how to use complex tools and features.

One of the benefits of using the Classic Editor is that it is faster and more efficient than the Gutenberg editor, especially when working with long-form content. The Classic Editor loads quickly and does not require users to navigate through blocks, which can be time-consuming.

Another advantage of the Classic Editor is that it is compatible with most WordPress plugins and themes. Users who have been using WordPress for a long time and have invested in plugins and themes can continue to use them without worrying about compatibility issues.

To use the Classic WordPress Editor, users need to install the Classic Editor plugin, which is available for free in the WordPress repository. Once installed, users can switch between the Classic Editor and the Gutenberg editor by selecting the appropriate option in the Settings menu.

In conclusion, the Classic WordPress Editor is an essential feature of WordPress that provides users with a simple and straightforward way to create and edit their content. It is particularly useful for bloggers who want to focus on creating content without having to worry about complex tools and features. While the Gutenberg editor is the default editor in WordPress, users can still use the Classic Editor by installing the Classic Editor plugin.
