During this video tutorial, we are going to take a look at the Gutenberg WordPress Editor Templates.
Firstly, what is the Gutenberg WordPress Editor Templates?
According to themeisle.com “A Gutenberg template is essentially just a pre-made collection of blocks that you can import to the editor and customise.
These templates act as a structure on which you can build your pages. Some are very simple, yet allow you to personalise almost everything”
To install go to your WordPress dashboard, then “Plugins” and select “Add New”. Now search for “Gutenberg” in the search bar and you will get all the related results.
However, “Gutenberg was officially released as part of WordPress 5.0 on December 6, 2018. If you’ve updated your site to WordPress 5.0, you should now see the block editor by default.”, according to codeinwp.com
Once installed (if not available by default), click on the activate button and then you will see some video tutorials and an intro video.
Once you have watched those, go to “Posts” and select “Add New”.
There will be a temporary library button, click on it and select “maybe later” from the pop-up.
You should notice that you get all the blocks in different categories. You can then go ahead and insert the one you like.
In the next section of this tutorial video, we look at templates, including template kits and patterns.
